Welcome to the Ascend Hockey Academy (AHA) U13 Elite team for the 2025-26 season! Competing in the Premier Hockey League (PHL), our program is built to develop elite-level players through top-tier coaching, competitive gameplay, and a winning culture. With a strong focus on skill development, hockey IQ, and high-performance training, we prepare our athletes to excel both on and off the ice.

Director of Hockey Ops/Assistant Coach

Isaac Matthews

Isaac Matthews is the Director of Hockey Operations and Assistant Coach at Ascend Hockey Academy (AHA), as well as a lead instructor and co-founder of Ascend Elite Hockey Development. With a background as a player for the Glenlake Hawks and Calgary Royals, Isaac transitioned into coaching early in his junior career. He has a proven track record of developing players, including successful stints with the Glenlake Hawks U15 BC 1 and Calgary Royals U15AA Gold. Certified with the NCCP Coaching 2, Isaac is dedicated to helping players improve their skills, build confidence, and reach their full potential on and off the ice.

GM/Assistant Coach

Beckham Keon

Beckham Keon is the GM and Assistant Coach at Ascend Hockey Academy (AHA). Beckham is also a co founder and lead instructor with Ascend Elite Hockey Development. With a strong coaching background, he has successfully helped players reach the highest levels of hockey. Beckham grew up playing with the Calgary Royals and Glenlake Hawks and is certified with NCCP Coaching 2. His expertise and dedication to player development make him an invaluable asset in guiding players to reach their full potential both on and off the ice.
